Forgotten Harvest, based in Oak Park, rescues surplus food from farms, grocers, restaurants, and other approved sources to fight hunger and reduce waste across Metro Detroit. Serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties, they distribute millions of pounds of fresh, nutritious food each year to more than 200 emergency food providers, including pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens.
Inspired by the life and spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen works tirelessly to serve those in need. Their mission is not just to fulfill the basic need for food, but also to stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and address root causes of social injustice in our community.
